Luisa Hogan is the founder and CEO of Vermelho and a Leadership Resilience Strategist. She works with executive teams and business owners on the difference between looking strong and being steady.
She stepped into a CEO role and inherited an organisation that was already failing. She spent months on a turnaround, held her team together through all of it, and then sat in the board meeting where the decision was made to close it. In the change work that followed, she kept meeting the same pattern: capable leaders burning out under an unspoken instruction to simply endure, and calling that endurance strength. Steady Is the New Strong came out of that.
You only ever call yourself resilient once you are out the other side, which makes it a word about the past. Steadiness is what is available to you while the pressure is still on, and it is a set of skills rather than a temperament you were either born with or missed out on.
She is the author of The Mindset Fitness Workout: Be Fit for Success Without Burning Out and a co-author of Trust and Transformation: Personal Stories and Powerful Lessons from Women Redefining Leadership. She brings psychology and twenty years in executive seats to help audiences:
- Shift from reacting and over-performing to pausing and choosing deliberate action
- Tell the difference between steadiness in the moment and resilience after the fact
- Build teams that stay honest, connected and effective through uncertainty.
She uses her own leadership story rather than borrowed case studies, and short stories and humour rather than motivation. Her audiences are executives, emerging leaders and business owners who need to make good decisions while the pressure is still live.
"Luisa delivered an outstanding presentation on "Steady is the New Strong" to 7 and 8 figure business owners at D32 Business Networking.
What landed first was that Luisa has walked the talk - she has her own leadership story, and that earned her immediate respect in the room. Her presentation was fresh, relatable, on point and engaging. By the end, every single participant asked for the slide deck – quite unusual. I can't recommend Luisa highly enough as a keynote speaker for your event."

Listen to Luisa talk about her work
Why Luisa?
Speakers on this subject have studied pressure. Luisa has been the one making the call. 18 years in COO, CDO and CEO seats, an organisation she inherited and could not save, and more than 200 workshops and advisory sessions with teams in the middle of real change.
Steadiness is only teachable if you can name what you are teaching. Hers breaks into five skills, setting tempo, seeing clearly, metabolising pressure, staying findable and repairing fast, so a room leaves with something to practise instead of something to agree with.

Key Speaker Themes
All suit leadership conferences, executive retreats, change summits and wellbeing events.
➔ Steady Is The New Strong
45 Minutes
In a world obsessed with constant hustle, “being strong” often leads to exhaustion, disconnection, and burnout. This keynote offers a new model: resilience as steadiness. Attendees will learn how to:
- Steady themselves under pressure and respond, rather than react
- Build clarity, calm, and confidence as leadership practices
- Redefine success not as endurance, but as sustainable influence
➔ We Ruined Resilience
30 Minutes
Teams are facing an unprecedented speed of change and are burning out faster than ever. But we hold onto an outdated and damaging definition of resilience. Attendees will learn how to:
- Reframe resilience from enduring pressure to steadiness
- Recognise and recover from change fatigue by identifying early warning signs of burnout and applying practical reset tools
- Rebuild confidence, culture, and connection within teams through deliberate leadership choices
➔ The Inner Voice of Leadership
30 Minutes
Your brand voice matters, but your inner voice shapes every decision before your audience sees a thing. A powerful talk on positive self-talk as a strategic leadership tool. After talking to hundreds of leaders through The Second Voice podcast, Luisa knows the patterns of self-talk that show up while building and leading a business. Attendees will learn how to:
- Identify the difference between the first reactive voice and the second intuitive voice.
- Steady themselves so the second voice can be heard
- Use self-talk as a tool for strategic excellence.
